Reflex Integration
Adult and Children
Babies are born with certain reflexive movements that serve as survival and protective mechanisms. These non-intentional movements are called primitive reflexes. As a baby grows, these reflexive movements become integrated into the brain and serve as the basis for motor control, higher cortical functioning like thinking, self-control, and emotional regulation.
When injury or disease is experienced, the nervous system often reverts to lower brain stem primitive reflexive patterns to support healing. The methods used in MNRI involve building new neurological pathways to support brain-body health.
The MNRI Program is applicable to many conditions including developmental delays, congenital disease, physical or emotional trauma, prolonged, chronic, or intermittent stress, general debilitation (physical, emotional, etc.) caused by any of the above, neurological conditions, and head injuries. Specific childhood developmental conditions including autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, learning disabilities have been noted to improve by supporting the integration of neurological reflexes.
MNRI supports Neuroplasticity and the brain and nervous systems' ability to continue to learn, adapt and grow at any age.
